Bright and Cheerful

Hey there. I wasn't quite sure how to group these two layouts but looking at them more made me think of how colourful and fun they are, so I guess I'll group them as that.

Carpe Diem
I can't quite remember when the photo was taken but I think it was Valentine's day this year, hence the rose. I had an abundance of chipboard frames, so I decided to use as many of them as I could. I split the background into two parts, aqua chevron and floral black polka dots on the other as a contrast and build the frames down the middle.
I cut out some flowers to tie in the chevron side to the floral side. The cat is too cute. Just had to add it as a whimsical accent.
Cameras are always good fun on a page. I finished the page with some sticker confetti.

Silly Snaps
No one can resist those snap chat or camera360 apps. Too much fun to play with and this one is so cute. I decided to use this circular pink background paper to pull your eye into the photo.
Some paper strips and cut out cameras add to the page.
I had lots of fun just sitting and cutting out all the clouds to place around the page and finished it off with some cute stars.

Birthdays in March

Hi there. March is the birthday month for my two closest to my heart - the hubs and Miss C. As their birthdays are only four days apart, we usually choose separate weekends to celebrate. We went to Macau with a couple of friends for Miss C's birthday and we had a family dinner and then a bigger party at our place for friends for the hubby. I haven't scrapped that one yet, but here are the two layouts I have.

Birthday Dinner
This is a very simple layout which I completed in around ten minutes. I used more masculine colours and I love the wood plank background against the blues.
The cake die cut is too cute and I love the simplicity of it.
Just a few accents complete this page. I kept the rest of the page very minimalistic.

Epic 11th
For Miss C's eleventh birthday (gosh, I can't believe how quickly shes growing up), we decided to take a couple of her friends on an overnight trip with us to Macau to an indoor interactive role play centre. The hotel room was enormous and the girls had fun playing hide and seek in the suite as well as having a blast in the role play centre. I love this fun paper line and the cute embellishments to go with it.
The doggy and kitty are so adorable and add whimsy to the page. I love the gold glittery foam letters and I have used them in several layouts.
So many cute balloons and chipboard accents  make it easy to complete the page.

Holiday Adventures

Hey there. As most scrapbookers, my layouts are never done chronologically, so I'm trying to group my posts in to different genres (as much as I can) in order to make it easier to track and to provide a post title that makes sense. Do I make sense?

This post is about holiday layouts that I've scrapped in the last few months (apart from the Japan ones, which I separated into another post). Scrapping all these holiday photos really makes me appreciate how fortunate we are to be able to go on so many holidays and I love being able to document and treasure all those amazing memories.

Garden by the Bay
We passed through Singapore during Chinese New Year for an Asian cruise and took some time to go the gardens by the bay. We were given some free tickets by some very generous people who couldn't use them, so we went up to one of the plant towers. I do not like heights and this thing is a floating walkway between some enormous and very tall structures. Couldn't get down quick enough, but I did brave a photo or two. Just don't look down! Don't you love the map paper background?
I love the gold foil 'fabulous' accent and the globe is so cute.
I cut out the orange arrows, one for the top and bottom to draw your eye to the photos.

Let's Go
I just love this paper line from Shimelle. So much fun to play with. The photos were taken at the beginning of our trip to the US last summer.
I fussy cut the luggage and tickets to go round the photos.
Love all the tickets and the airport flip board wording. I used to love watching those boards flip in the old days
I love how the cute chipboard plane matches the Cathay Pacific plane in the background of the photo on the right.

The Best Fun Ever
This layout cracks me up every time. We experienced some vertical sky diving tunnel on board the cruise ship we were on last summer. Amazing that they have such things on ships. Putting on the outfits and helmets were a laugh and although we only got to hover, it was a lot of fun.
I'm in love with clear stickers right now and the camera sticker is too cute. I used the 'fun' foam word to add to the title.
The red heart balances the red on the left of the layout. Love the faux Dymo accents.
The die cut stars came with the MCS kit and I think they are cute layered behind the photos.

See you in the next post,

Macau Short Stay

Hey there. Right after Christmas, we did an overnighter in Macau to show hubby's aunt and uncle around. There are so many new hotel/casinos cropping up in Macau and it interesting to walk around and explore each one.

Dream
I love this photo for what look like Renoir paintings. It was just a large poster, but the colours are so gorgeous. I kept the background relatively neutral in colour (light brown) so the colours in the photo can show a bit more.
A pretty simple layout with large flower accents and a few crystal flourishes.
I love this saying and I chose the title as I felt the paintings in the photo has a dreamy quality.
A small cluster of flowers balance out the top left corner of the photo.

Happy Day
These photos were taken out the new Wynn Palace Cotai hotel in Macau, where you can take a cable car across the man made lake/fountain to the hotel entrance. I decided I wanted a more floral look to for the photos because of the elaborate lamps and fencing around the lake in the photos.
Kaisercraft have some lovely sayings on the branding strip which are great to cut up and use on your layouts. I layered up lots of strip stickers behind the photos as well.
Time to get out the doily and some flowers to scatter around, and another branding strip quote.
I stenciled on some flowers on the background and also used some pinks and greens sprayed around the page.

Macau is only an hour away from Hong Kong by ferry, so it's a quick weekend getaway or even just a day trip destination.

A Glimpse of Japan

Hey there. One of our favourite places to go is Japan and we've already been twice in the last six months. It's not too far from Hong Kong and we are in love with all things Japanese, not least of all the food. It is Miss C's favourite destination and she loves all the cute "kawaii" products and characters.

We took a mother and daughter trip just before Christmas last year to Okinawa for a few days and we had another trip to Tokyo in early February with our company. Both trips were so much fun and I always look forward to another trip there. These aren't all the photos taken on our trips, of course; just a few. I hope to scrap more of them soon.

 Pika Pika Pikachu
With the huge Pokemon-go mania happening last year, Miss C fell in love with all things Pokemon, so of course we had to visit a Pokemon centre when we were in Okinawa to check out the merchandise. This big yellow Pikachu was so cute and begging for a cuddle. I chose this paper line for the photo as it looks fun and colourful to match.
Adding an arrow and some tags draw your eye towards to photo and title.
An accent corner to balance out the page.

Pretty Park
Behind the hotel we were staying at in Okinawa, was a Chinese style garden with pagodas and waterfalls. We spent an hour taking photos, feeding the fish and Miss C got splashed by some hungry carp looking for their lunch. I chose this paper line as it has an almost oriental design.
Since the photos are of a garden, I added pots of flowers on the side.
 Always love camera accents.
I  cut alternating coloured strips as the backing for the photos and added some accents around.

 Amazing Happiness
These next three layouts are from our Tokyo trip in February. This one, we tracked down some early blooming sakura trees in Yoyogi Park. So beautiful and I love how the papers complement the photo with all the beautiful pink flowers.
Really love the gold foil wood grain ampersand against the pink and green flower.
I love the dimensional flowers that look a little like the cherry blossoms. I inked the accents a little and also added gold rubon stars and hearts around the page.
I recently got this blossom stamp and absolutely love it. I stamped the flowers around the photo and on the sides in tattered rose distress ink.

Let's Sushi
Can't go to Japan without getting sushi and we found a great place that did amazing, fresh, delicious sushi at a reasonable price. Miss C couldn't miss out on her ikura (salmon roe) rice bowl - her absolute favourite, as you can see from her expression - polished it off in record time. I was looking for the right kit to use with these photos and really love the rich red as a background.
I like the contrast of the glittery gold and criss cross pattern of the chipboard letters. I also love the row of cameras across the page.
A small accent cluster to balance off the photo.

Prickly Cuddles
Japan is full of animal cafes and when we heard about a hedgehog cafe, we had to have a look. These cuties are so adorable but they really are quite prickly. We used gloves to handle them but some others were using bare hands. We did try, but ouch. We got to feed them meal worms, which they love. Very cute animals. Don't you love the navy blue background paper with the peach cross paper?
I really like the patchwork hearts and Love that tie in the colours of the papers.
The little bird is too cute and adds a little whimsy to the photos.

I still have more Japan photos to scrap and hope to get round to them when I can find the right papers to scrap with them.

Thanks for looking,
