HK Memory Chest Kit Club - April 2016

Hi there. Another month gone. Haven't been scrapping a lot last month as there was a lot going on and couldn't seem to get the time. I did do a couple of kids classes and of course this month's kit samples.

Talking about this kit, I just love it. Lots of neutral and muted colours, a bit of grunge and a bit of romantic. Perfect for any layout.

The sketch for this month:

Dear Friends
This paper comes with it's own brush painted frame printed on it, so it's a no-brainer to place a photo in that space and work around it. We used to have monthly girl's night dinner until one of us left Hong Kong and then they sort of fizzled out. She came back for a week's visit and so we went to our favourite restaurant to catch up and have plenty of laughs. Still, should be no excuse not to have the regular dinners with three of us in the future.
The kit comes with chipboard air balloons that spell 'dream', but I left the 'm' out and changed it to 'dear'.
I layered on a several strips of patterned paper as well as stenciled kraft cardstock.
For the bottom left corner, I layered on some different stickers, chipboard and wooden elements. Love the chipboard 'best friends' tag.

Drive Day
I love the grungy numbers background paper and it goes well with the theme of the photos, which were taken on hubby's birthday. We hired the venue for a grown up simulator race night. Really cool and the 'cars' drove just like the real thing, although they were stationary.
The kit comes with actual sized playing card alphabets and are so cool for making oversized titles. I used some chipboard buttons under the title as a fun 'wheel' accent.
For the base, I taped off a 'driving path' and stenciled with coloured molding paste. I added a small accent corner on the top right of the page. Love the film strip sticker.
Again, a few accents to balance the page out.

Moments in Time
For this next layout, I worked with the green polka dot paper. Most of the papers already have printed layers on, but I added more on dimension. The photos were taken in Tokyo just before we got on the bullet trains to the northern prefectures.
Read made layered chipboard makes this kit easy to put together and love that the quotes are so adaptable.
A cluster of accents on the top left. I love the sheet of grungy alphas that you can cut out and use for titles. I used them for all my pages as I loved them too much.
Adorable layered chipboard to balance off the top right of the page. I also chose the G and C playing cards to denote Miss C and myself in the photos.

Sweet Beautiful Faces
I chose the understated book pages background paper as a perfect foil for splattering and layering. The photo was taken from the end of my bed where they love to lounge.
Lots of layering with playing cards, bracket frames and other accents.
Air balloons never go out of style. They are so symmetrical, therefore make for great accents.
The printed sticker doesn't need much more embellishments other than a flower and some extra chipboard tags.
